If you’re after a no-fuss camping spot for the whole family, The Gums Campground is a ripper choice. Each site comes with its own firepit and picnic table, perfect for cooking up a feed or just hanging out arvo and night. Kids will love exploring the nearby creek and wandering the walking tracks surrounded by tall gum trees. It’s a quiet and safe spot with plenty of room for the little ones to roam, though sites are a bit close together so keep an eye on the young ones. Just bring your own camp cooker or BBQ gear, as the communal BBQs have been out of order.

Beautiful Bushland & Creek Views That'll Take Your Breath Away πŸŒ…

The Gums Campground is nestled among towering gum trees with a lovely creek flowing nearby, creating a peaceful bushland setting that’s a treat for nature lovers. Many campers rave about the sounds of the creek and the abundance of native birds you can spot at dawn. The walking tracks wind through the bush, offering a great way to stretch your legs and soak up the fresh air. It’s a quiet spot, especially midweek, making it perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. Just watch out for high winds due to the tall trees overhead.

Basic Facilities & Easy Access for a Simple Bush Camp πŸš—

This campground keeps things simple with clean drop toilets and parking close to each site, though parking spaces can be a bit tight. Each campsite has a picnic table and firepit, so you’re set for a comfy stay. The road in is mostly sealed with a short dirt section, but some campers mention potholes and narrow access, so take care if towing. There’s no rubbish bins onsite, so bring a bag to pack out your rubbish. Booking ahead is essential as the free camping spots fill up fast, especially on weekends.

Things to Keep in Mind When Visiting ⚠️

While The Gums Campground is a beaut spot, a few things to watch for: the BBQs are often out of order, so bring your own cooking gear. Some campers mention the drop toilets can be a bit rough, with occasional vandalism and lack of toilet paper, so pack your own supplies. The sites are close together with limited privacy, which might not suit those after a quiet, secluded stay. Also, the tall gum trees can pose a risk in high winds, so check weather conditions before pitching up. Lastly, the road in has potholes and narrow sections, so drive carefully, especially with trailers or vans.
