The walk to the lighthouse offers a mix of beach strolls, rocky climbs, and small hills, giving you a proper Aussie outdoor adventure. Parking’s a breeze here with a large, free carpark that’s well marked and surfaced with smooth asphalt. There’s a one-way system to navigate, but it’s straightforward once you get the hang of it. Public toilets are available nearby at Matins Reserve, just a short walk away, and there’s an info shelter at the carpark edge to help you plan your visit. While shade is limited in the carpark, you can find some at Matins Reserve if you need a breather from the sun. Overall, it’s a spot that balances natural beauty with practical family-friendly facilities.
Things to Keep in Mind When Visiting ⚠️
The longer 1660m walking path to the lighthouse is quite challenging, involving climbing over rocks and hills, so it’s not suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, or little kids. The shorter 1170m path is much easier and pram-friendly, so best stick to that if you’ve got young ones or mobility needs. Also, the carpark has limited shade, so if you’re visiting on a scorcher, consider parking at Matins Reserve for some cover. The toilets aren’t right at the carpark but a short walk away, so plan accordingly with the kids.
